Introducing Milbank Chiropractor Dr. Aaron Micko

“I was working on a farm while still attending college when I started having severe low back pain. I limped into a local chiropractor and I told him that I was having excruciating low back pain. He closely looked me over and adjusted my low back. I walked out of the office feeling like the man had just saved my life. If I could do that for just one person, maybe I would change their day and possibly their whole life,” Dr. Micko stated.
Dr. Micko attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in chemistry. He continued his education at the University of Nevada Las Vegas to obtain the last few pre-chiropractic credits. Later he attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN; where he completed his doctorate in Chiropractic. While in school, Aaron even had an opportunity to intern with the Chiropractor of the Minnesota Vikings.
Dr. Micko believes that by getting someone out of pain is not even half the battle. By getting people out of pain and stopping care, you are merely patching up the area until the pain comes back time and again. Instead, after the pain is gone, there needs to be a time where the back is in a healing phase, a time where he fixes the back. After the healing phase, comes the maintenance phase in which periodic checkups make sure the spine is functioning properly. If you relate spinal health to say getting back into shape, “Why after you start losing weight does one quit?” “Why do you work so hard and let yourself end up at the same point”?

Aaron along with his wife Sandi, are natives of South Dakota and are glad to be back in the area. Aaron is from Claremont, a small town just north of Groton, South Dakota while his wife is a former resident of Britton, South Dakota. The Micko’s enjoy Milbank’s cozy atmosphere and friendly people as well as the close proximity of their families. Aaron’s other passions are hunting and fishing which Milbank seems to have plenty of.
